Antique Coverlet Pillow in Brown Chain
$198.00
A beautiful, one-of-a-kind upcycled throw pillow, made from a hand woven antique Appalachian overshot coverlet, in a deep brown and cream geometric pattern. These weaving patterns were coveted creations, passed down through generations from each families' matriarch, typically made from wool from their own sheep heards, mixed with linen and cotton. The looms used to make these coverlets were of Nordic design, bringing a rich, Scandinavian look/feel to the patterns, unique for each region and family. Each pillow measures approximately 20 x 20 inches, with an envelope closure hemp/cotton tan backing, and down insert. While incredibly durable, the weavings are upwards of 150 years old, so natural variations, imperfections, and signs of repair are to be expected, and part of the special nature of each historial piece. Brought into a new life with care by Slow Process in Burlington, Vermont. Limited edition of two available, sold separately.
